If you don’t know what Magic the Gathering is, it’s a trading card game with its own lore and story behind the cards themselves. These cards are categorized into five colors, which are white, black, blue, red, and green (there’s also colorless which is pretty much grey).  The cards in these games all have a picture of some kind of creature, enchantment, artifact, instant and sorcery (magic and spells), and land (which are represent different environments).  Each of these cards has a certain amount of “hit points” (HP) and can perform a variety of functions, depending upon how it is used. There’s different ways to play with these cards and build decks with them but the most common format is a regular deck that consists of at least 60 cards. You can only have a maximum of four of the same exact card in a deck, except cards that are basic land because their is no limit to how many of those you can have. The way you win the game is you play your cards against your opponents and try to lower their “hit points.” There are many strategies to use to win the game, but basically you have to lower opponent’s (or opponents’ — games have been known to have up to 20 players) “hit points” to zero.  Everyone starts with 20 HP and then your points go up or down depending on how well you play your cards.

So, let’s talk about the cards.  People create their own cards all of the time, within certain parameters of the game — you can’t create a card that will always win and win you the game.  As an avid Magic the Gathering player, like most people, I buy card decks that other people have created and learn how to play these cards.  I will trade cards with my friends to build up decks of cards that I can use when I play….so I just grab a deck to play instead of spending hours figuring out what to use for one game.  I learn how to use these decks of cards well and compete against other decks.  Once you have enough experience, that is when you start creating your own cards.  I am now at a level where I am creating my own custom cards.

Scorpio, Poisonous Bug is my 5th custom made magic the gathering card that is a legendary creature that is based off the zodiac spirit Scorpio, the Scorpion. The play style of this card is to be extremely aggressive and to make it harder for your opponents to keep creatures on the field. This card alone will make it very difficult for you opponent early in the game because it’s fast to play, does a lot of damage, and is really hard to play against. These cards will be the best ones to truly help out Scorpio’s power:

Lightning Bolt (4 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by letting you deal damage to your opponents and/or opposing creatures

Rakdos Cackler (4 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by letting you have early game advantage by having a creature on the field sooner and being able to attack with it

Mogis, God of Slaughter (2 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by making your opponents have two hard choices at the beginning of their turn, either taking damage or sacrificing a creature.

Ash Zealot (4 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by having a very strong creature very early in the game on the field, which helps you control the field

Boros Reckoner (3 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio because when this creature is dealt damage it deals the same amount to any target player or creature

Fatal Push (2 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by destroying certain other creatures that may be a challenge to Scorpio

Rakdos’s Return (3 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio because it deals so much damage to target opponent and also makes your opponent have to discard a few or many cards (depending upon how much Mana you have), limiting your opponents to what they can play

Blightning (3 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Same thing as Rakdos’s Return but it will always deal 3 damage and discard 2 cards

Hellhole Flailer (2 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio  by having another creature on the field that, by sacrificing it, will deal damage to target player depending on the creature’s power

Cryptborn Horror (2 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by being a creature that varies in size when it enters the battlefield, its strength will be based on how much health your opponents lost the turn you play it

Dreadbore (4 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by destroying target creature or planeswalker, helping you gain control over the field

Hellrider (3 per deck with Scorpio)

  • Helps Scorpio by making every creature you control automatically deal one damage to your opponent when they attack them

These cards are the best to be played with Scorpio, Poisonous Bug because it lets you have nearly full control of early game by having more creatures on the field, getting rid of your opponent’s creatures, cards in their hand, and also dealing very early damage.
